The 'eVisa Check' verification route allows applicants to verify their identity through UK Home Office records using a share code for their eVisa. This quick and efficient method is ideal for eligible immigrants who have online immigration status records with the UK Home Office.
To use the 'eVisa Check' route, you must:
- be a legal immigrant residing in the UK
- have a UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) account with your immigration status recorded online
- be able to generate the share code for your eVisa at gov.uk/view-prove-immigration-status and provide it to us when prompted during your application
During the application process, you will be asked "Are you an immigrant with an eVisa issued by the UK Home Office?" Selecting "Yes" will initiate the eVisa Check verification process.
Important: Once you select the eVisa Check route and provide the share code to access your eVisa, you cannot change your verification route without contacting our support team.
Your application may be rejected if:
- you are due to be deported from the UK
- your eVisa has expired
- the uploaded photo does not match the likeness on your eVisa
- you provide the share code linked to someone else's eVisa details
- submits anything other than the share code, such as National Insurance number
After selecting the eVisa Check route, you will be prompted to upload a photo for your CitizenCard. Ensure your photo complies with the guidelines provided to avoid delays.
Once your photo is uploaded, the 'Provide share code for eVisa' option on your application checklist will be enabled. Using the link, follow the instructions to generate your share code at gov.uk/view-prove-immigration-status, then return to the application page to enter and submit your share code.
Important: When generating the share code, select "To prove my immigration status for anything else" when asked, "Why do you need a share code?". Please note, the share code must begin with the letter "S".
After submitting your share code, you will be redirected to the application checklist. The status will update to 'Validating eVisa Details'.
Once you have completed these steps, we will begin validating your eVisa details. If additional information is required or if there are any issues with the share code provided, we will contact you directly.
