CitizenCard and Boomtown Fair team up for 2017

CitizenCard is pleased to announce that we will be continuing our partnership with the Boomtown Fair Music and Arts festival again this year.

Boomtown Fair will welcome people of all ages to enjoy festivities at festival site on the Matterley Estate, near Winchester. The innovative setting, stellar line-up and range of activities on offer means that there’s something for all ages at Boomtown this year.

Festival organisers are clear that ID checking on site will be incredibly strict at Boomtown Fair this year. Anyone lucky enough to look younger than 25 will be required to prove their age.

PASS NOT PASSPORTS

CitizenCard welcomes today’s (WEDNESDAY 21 DECEMBER 2016) launch of the campaign by Her Majesty’s Passport Office to encourage young people to leave their passport at home and to use a PASS card instead.

Andrew Chevis, Chief Executive of CitizenCard and a Board Director of PASSCO which accredits PASS card issuers, said:

“Half of all lost passports are lost in bars, clubs and pubs so we welcome the Government’s clear support for PASS cards as an affordable, easy to replace form of ID/proof of age. New design for under 18 cards

CitizenCard has launched a new card design for our under 18 cards. It looks a lot like the 18+ card, but is yellow instead of blue. The new design is for two age bands: 16-17 and Under 16. All cards will now feature the date when the 16-17 cardholders turn 18 and the under 16 cardholders turn 16.

The new cards feature the PASS hologram and display the Trading Standards logo on the front. They also have a UV (ultraviolet) marking in the form of the PASS logo which runs right across the cards. The UV marks can be seen with a UV light.

Police and doorstaff are on the cards

Home Office Minister Norman Baker today (Tuesday 10 June 2014) launched the new 18+ PASS card design that features on 18+ CitizenCards.  The new design displays the logos of the Association of Chief Police Officers, the Trading Standards Institute and the Security Industry Authority (SIA) that licenses bar and club doorstaff across the UK.

 

Chief Constable Adrian Lee, on behalf of ACPO, endorsed the new design and has written to fellow Chief Constables advising that if the card is refused in bars or clubs the police must investigate.  The police advise that passports should not be used as proof of age and the DVLA oppose driving licences being used for this purpose either.

NINS Pack promotes new CitizenCard

The No ID, No Sale! Campaign, run by CitizenCard, celebrates CitizenCard’s 15th anniversary by launching today (10 June 2014) a new pack featuring the new 18+ CitizenCard.  The pack contains a Statutory Tobacco Notice, window vinyl, poster, Manager’s Guide, refusals register, CitizenCard application forms and dispenser, and a new message aimed at young adults likely to be asked for ID – ‘it’s not personal, it’s the law’.
